I think this says it all...

From an article regarding the "May Day" protests on behalf of Illegal Aliens:

"It's unjust the dark times we're living in," 42-year-old laborer Nacho Santos said through an interpreter. "Those of us who are immigrants are trying to bring the United States back into the light. Our people have given much to this country and many of here have come hoping for legalization."

So...Nacho, through an interpreter, wants to let us all know that "our" people have given so much to this country. Well, Nacho, I'd love to have an eloquent and deep conversation regarding our differences on the issue...BUT YOU DON'T SPEAK AMERICAN!, so that won't work out.

I've heard this issue addressed from many angles, but the one component that still stands out for me is this: Nacho, and the 12 million (that we know of) like him are here illegally. Repeat: "ILLEGALLY". It's like coming home to find a burglar in your home, but once caught, the burglar decides to move in, clean your house, and otherwise become a model resident. After years pass, the burglar now decides that it's his "right" to become part of your family, and why haven't you adopted me yet? And, after you've adopted the burglar, the burglar wants to have his entire extended family move in to your home too, because it's their "right".

NOT

I hope that the law makers and law enforcers of this nation (one that used to be great) will stop pussy-footing around this issue (emphasis on PUSSY) and enforce the laws as they are written. Stop the invasion of criminal, resource-sucking, non-productive, non-assimilating (my biggest beef) humans and stop cow-towing to the Mexican government who DEMAND that we change our own immigration policies while they, on the southern end of their own borders, deny access to their country to ANY non-documented visitor. Hmmm...Quid Pro Quo? Don't even get me started on the unreciprocalness (that's not a word) of our extradition treaties with our 51'st state.

PRESS "1" FOR ENGLISH

I'm unsure why, in the United States of America, do I have to press "1" for English?

I consider myself a relatively moderate individual and completely subscribe to our Constitution, our Country and it's original charter. Freedom is why millions of other country's citizens come here (legally or illegally), and I TOTALLY get that.

I'd like to see (hear?) "For a language OTHER than English, press "1"". That's all I want!

That is all...thank you for listening!

"Hate" is such a Strong Word...

But, GWB, I really don't like you!

On 10/10/2006, Keith Olberman did a wonderfully revealing piece (in his normally psuedo-irreverent-but-serious way) outlining how the misadministration has, under cover of scandal and "truthiness", neutered the Writ of Habeus Corpus as it pertains to it's reference in the U.S. "Constitution".

I feel as though I've been punched in the gut...I have no air to breath, no energy to muster. Nothing. Just a void where my civil liberties used to be, right next to my heart.

Our Chimpanzee-In-Chief has mumblefucked his way to another milestone of stupidity, bravado and ultimately has guaranteed our failure as a civil and righteous nation. While the media's been whipped into a frenzy over FoleyBate (a true crime in many ways, and worthy of the attention it's receiving), the SimiAdministration's has geeked us yet again: He signed the Military Commissions Act of 2006, which, among it's many provisions, suspends the Writ of Habeus Corpus at the discretion of the Prezdent.

I concede that I am far from expert in the ways of government, who does what and all such nonesense, and in truth, I am probably just knowledgeable enough to ignore with prejudice. However, the manner with which our "leader" conducted himself in order to forward this legislation should be a huge eyeopener, even to those who have voted for him, that he's simply not to be trusted.

Hate is surely a strong word...and I'm not sure it doesn't apply here, Dubya.

What about "ILLEGAL" don't we get?

Before I start, I should say that I generally lean towards the left in the matters involving humans, their rights and how governments govern them, however...

Here in Southern Cal, there's quite a constant hum regarding the rights of "immigrants", and how the poor immigrants are being profiled, how they're be treated unfairly, and comparing their plight to that of the Ellis Island inductees, et. al.

My family's been in the United States for generations, and have become so non-ethnic that you're likely to see my face on the label of a mayonaise jar. My wife, on the other hand, is 2nd generation Italian whose grandfather and grandmother both came to these United States through Ellis Island, so, if only by association, I have an equitable connection to the immigration "issue".

The politicos on the side of the "immigrants" are stirring the pot and waving the flag (not American, mind you...assimilation isn't part of their agenda, but I digress...) on behalf of their constituents.

I'm afraid I just don't get the issue; the constituents on the side of these "immigrants" aren't voters, and the groups supporting them don't appear to have any wide appeal to people who do. The "immigrants", unlike the immigrants they attempt to liken themselves to, do not want to assimilate, or become "American".

By assimilation, I do not believe or expect that every immigrant become a pasty-white, protestant, SUV-driving, baseball-playing American. Cultural diversity and connection to our respective heritages is what makes us American, but, we're American. This Freshmen Class of new "immigrants" wants all the privileges of citizenship with no responsibility for actually being American...but again, I digress.

The point is this: Without papers, these occupiers of my land are, in fact, illegal. There's many legitimate arguments for or against our current policies and laws regarding what's "illegal", or why, but as the laws stand now (and NO, we don't need additional legislation to make anything more illegal), they are illegal. That's all. The talking heads in support of the current misadministration's "path to citizenship" outline their goal of simply giving the 12,000,000 current illegal aliens (that they think they know of) some type of ID card that'll let them go willy-nilly between Mexico and the US with little or no oversight, but hey...PROBLEM SOLVED!...NOT!

This has all contributed to a heated debate amongst the pro and antis in this arena, but I ask: to what end? What about "illegal" do we not collectively get? Why does the media not call this what it is? Whenever you hear/see a story on the 6:00 news, they never say "15,000 ILLEGAL immigrants gathered...", they only say "15,000 immigrants...". That's irresponsible journalism...and it perpetuates a myth that, in some way, these poor, destitude, down-trodden victims are being persecuted merely because they're [insert Latin American, Asian or Middle-Eastern nationality here], and not because they are, in fact, ILLEGAL. As ILLEGAL as is a prostitute, a seller of drugs, a bank robber or any of our famed car-chase participants.

The definition of "illegal" is: "Forbidden by Law or Statute". Here's what the definition of "illegal" isn't: Subjective. There are many local, state and federal LAWS (the things that define what's legal, and what isn't) that address the how's, what's, why's and when's of illegal immigration enforcement. Laws that are already on the books, and that must be enforced. Whether your angle is National Security (or as I like to call it, the Department of Standup Comedy), jobs & fair wages, or whatever, the laws are there. period. Enforce them as written, without prejudice, with impunity. Just as if you were an uninvited attendant in my home, get the fuck out.

In other words: Don't be a pussy, Mr./Mrs. Law Enforcement Agency. Do the job, and do it well. And Governors (or in my case, Governator), do the job, and do it well. Don't pussyfoot around and say stupid things like "it's the Federal Government's job", and then to nothing. And Federal Government: BUILD THE FUCKING FENCE! You and I both know that it's symbolic, but sending a message is better than doing nothing. Uncle Monkey wants to use other forms of technology to secure the border(s), and that's great, but don't use that excuse to do nothing, or worse, stonewall the project(s) that have been signed into law and appropriated for.

Honor our ancestors! They risked life and limb to legally come to this country with only one thing in mind: To be an American. They had foresaken their homeland to get here, stood in line, filled out the form, and bore horrible conditions, clear bias and prejudices unspeakable in today's culturally-sensible and politically-correct world, and did so with diginity and unity, with the result being that they, their children, and their children's children would be American. Today's ingrateful "immigrants" come to this country through tunnels, circumventing legalities, and when they get here, have no intention of assimilating, instead, live in exclusive (by that I mean they exclude Americans, not that it's any sort of paradise or vacation villa) communities, never learn to speak or understand english, illegally obtain Social Security numbers so that they can work, drive without driver's licenses or insurance, have no medical insurance and still have the "right" to attend schools and universities with impunity and on my dime.

Don't confuse my venom directed at these illegals as some sort of racially or socially motivated rant. I, by the grace of God, was born here, and after having visited 5 of the 7 continents in the service of my nation, I completely understand and empathize with the plight of the immigrant. I'm not even so blind as to assume that everyone on this planet desires to be an American citizen, or that I, by birthright, am any better/smarter/prettier than anyone else. I am absolutely humbled and blessed to be an American, and I'd be surprised if any Mexican, Afghani, Iraqi, Canadian, French (well maybe not French) citizen doesn't feel the same way about his/her lineage. My issue with all of this is that it's all conveniently swept under the rug because of our cultural sensitivities and fears of insulting anyone. But the facts are the facts: Illegal is just Illegal. Enforce the laws, secure our borders and stop being ridiculous about it.

Our Chimpanzee-In-Chief sees fit to send our volunteers into a war he created, permanently maiming and dismembering tens-of-thousands of our citizens under the guise of protecting our borders and our nation from the Evil Empire, yet will do nothing to stop the pedestrian illegals who can very simply walk 37 feet to our soil and bastardize and cheapen our soveriegnty. I guess Mr. Orwell wasn't too far off.

Let Us Not Lose Focus!

While the political cesspool we're swimming in is keeping us all distracted with sound-bytes about who-knew-what-and-when, "neener-neener" and such, let's not lose the focus here campers: There are red-blooded American Men & Women dying daily in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other netherregions yet to be defined or disclosed by our GW-uberment.

I think that any Congressman that "supports" our war should commit a son or daughter to it.

I am a Navy veteran who, by the grace of [insert Diety here], served the country at a time when sabre-rattling was a full-time occupation and the nearest I got to the shit was when we launched the helicopters that crashed in Iran. That aside, I totally support the honorable work our men and women (and yes, transvestite, trans-genders, homosexuals and lesbians who haven't "told" yet) in uniform who are doing their jobs and following the orders of their Chimpanzee-In-Chief...I just wish they didn't have to do it.

Let's just hope that Uncle Monkey doesn't get us into WWIII. The current course we're on, lead by the illegal alien resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Aveunue, is sure to ensure that my children have no future.

Welcome to the Angry White American Male who Votes.

Do not be disturbed or distressed in regard to this site's title, as it may not accurately reflect the contents. While it's true that I'm White, I'm American, I'm Angry, I'm Male, and I Vote, those things all put together do not automatically make me a Racist, a Bigot, a Republican or a Democrat.

In fact, I believe that those components make me what your composition may make you: Just Freakin' Angry.

Angry enough to prompt me to start this blog in the first place.

I intend for this editorial outlet to allow me (and you) to speak freely, express opinions (yes, even bad ones!) and watch as the words fly, the emotion grows and the rhetoric disappears. What makes me Angry about words is the lack of conviction and committment behind them, and how the talking heads who spew them don't even care what they mean to us (the "employers" of the talking heads).
